Terms of use
Last updated: June 2026
By using The Nook Japan, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable, not to bury anything — the heart of them is simple: we give you information and suggestions, and you make your own travel decisions and bookings.
Information & suggestions only
Everything on this site — articles, family notes, and any plan the trip planner or assistant produces — is information and a suggestion. The Nook Japan is not a travel agency. We do not book, reserve, arrange, or hold travel, accommodation, or activities, and we do not take or handle payment for them.
Plans are samples, not contracts
A generated itinerary or recommendation is a sample to help you plan — not a booked, guaranteed, or contracted plan. Times, prices, opening hours, and availability change constantly; always confirm the current details with the official source or provider before you rely on them.
Bookings are between you and the provider
When you follow a link to a hotel, ryokan, experience, or booking platform, any booking you make is directly between you and that third party, under their terms. We are not a party to it and have no responsibility for their service, pricing, cancellations, or conduct.
No medical or health claims
Where we mention onsen, we describe officially posted information for general interest only. Nothing here is medical advice. Decisions about health — including bathing with babies, allergies, or any condition — are between you and a qualified professional.
Our content
The writing, photos, and design on this site are ours (or used with permission). Please don't republish them wholesale; short quotes with a link back are welcome.
No warranty; limited liability
We work hard to be accurate and honest, but the site is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, The Nook Japanisn't liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from anything you book with a third party.
